Jeremy Slater is taking off into unfriendly skies.
Slater has crafted an airport-thriller pitch with producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and sold it to DreamWorks Studios. Kurtzman and Orci, who produced "Eagle Eye" for the company, will produce the untitled thriller, which Slater will write.
Motion Theory's Mathew Cullen and Sean Sorensen are executive producers, with Cullen attached to direct.
Slater, repped by UTA and Kaplan/Perrone, recently worked on the screenplay for the Paramount/MTV Films thriller "Handsome Devil." He also has his spec "My Spy" set up with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and CBS Films.
Kurtzman and Orci, who have a first-look deal at DreamWorks, have co-written and are producing the studio's forthcoming action tentpole "Cowboys and Aliens." Directed by Jon Favreau, the film begins shooting soon in New Mexico and is set for release in July 2011.
The pair also has "Deep Sea Cowboys" and "Atlantis Rising" in development at DreamWorks as producers as they work on the screenplay for a "Star Trek" sequel for Paramount.
Cullen is repped by CAA and Media Talent Group.
