
Los Angeles, CA- DreamWorks Studios has made a two-year first look deal with producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald, it was announced today by Stacey Snider, CEO and Co-Chairman for DreamWorks.
Parkes and MacDonald’s deal represents the first production deal to be made at the new company since Stacey Snider and Steven Spielberg partnered with India’s Reliance Big Entertainment to form a new motion picture company. Of the projects DreamWorks took with them in their separation from Paramount, Parkes and MacDonald are producing the following for the new studio: “The Trial of Chicago 7,” “The Damned,” “Dinner for Schmucks,” “Motorcade” and “St. Agnes’ Stand.”
“Walter and Laurie have consistently provided DreamWorks with quality films that are crowd pleasers and box office winners,” said Stacey Snider. “They are longtime members of the DreamWorks family and we look forward to continuing our successful partnership with them.”

As former Dreamworks co-heads, Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald have produced or executive produced a wide range of critically and commercially successful films, including the Oscar-winning “Gladiator,” the “Men In Black” and “Ring” series, as well as “Catch Me If You Can,” “Minority Report,” and “The Terminal,” the latter all directed by Steven Spielberg. Their most recent films with DreamWorks include 2007’s “The Kite Runner” and “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” and the upcoming thriller “The Uninvited” which is scheduled for release in January 2009.
